Marset Cala Floor Lamp

The Marset Cala Floor Lamp, designed by Joan Gaspar for Marset, pairs a generous white drum shade with an architectural slim metal stand to provide considered ambient and functional illumination within interiors.

The Cala's form is deliberately essential: a cylindrical, open-top and open-bottom shade sits above a crossover leg structure formed from slim black lacquered metal rods. The three legs converge near the top and flare to a stabilised base, creating a balanced, hourglass-like silhouette.

Construction combines a painted/metal frame with a white polyester shade manufactured from a PVC-PET laminated film, and a methacrylate diffuser positioned at the lower part of the shade. Horizontal stabiliser bars at the base add structural integrity while keeping the overall profile light.

The open drum allows light to escape upwards and downwards for a warm, cosy ambience; the methacrylate diffuser softens downward light to reduce glare and deliver balanced illumination and clarity to the space.

The lamp is supplied with a black power cord routed from the base and fitted with a circular foot-operated switch for simple control. Note the Cala carries an IP20 rating and is designed for indoor use.

At Lighting Design Online we recommend the Cala when you want a calm, design-led source of ambient light that reads as both architectural and understated. Its considered construction and clear design intent make it easy to specify with confidence, offering the professional assurance and lasting quality needed for well-made interiors.
