DCW éditions In The Tube Chandelier
The DCW éditions In The Tube Chandelier, designed by Dominique Perrault and Gaëlle Lauriot, reinterprets industrial tube lighting as a large-scale ceiling-mounted chandelier for lobbies, restaurants and other expansive interiors.
The design arranges six cylindrical tubes in a splayed, bouquet-like configuration around a central lower hub. Each tube is held at a considered angle by thin tension wires and a central support rod; the fitting is available with copper, gold or silver reflectors and with silver or gold mesh options.
Construction pairs clear glass (or transparent polymer) tubes with an internal metallic mesh or ribbed reflector and a matte black structural frame, canopy and end caps. Industrial-style end caps and the visible suspension wires give the piece a robust, engineered character.
Light is delivered by six integrated lighting units that are diffused through the internal mesh, producing a textured, banded glow along each tube and a multi-directional ambient effect. The chandelier is designed to occupy significant vertical and horizontal volume while softening shadow and contrast.
Mounting is via a circular ceiling rose and central support rod; thin metallic suspension wires maintain the splayed geometry and black cables collect at a central junction. The fitting is IP64 rated and comes with a two-year manufacturer warranty.
At Lighting Design Online we treat this chandelier as more than a decorative centrepiece: we consider how its scale, diffusion and finish will sit within layered lighting schemes. We provide practical, project-friendly advice on selection and specification so the In The Tube Chandelier fulfils the intended ambience with professional assurance and lasting quality.
