CVL Luminaires Paradoxe Chandelier
The CVL Luminaires Paradoxe Chandelier, designed by Emilie Cathelineau, is a large-scale ceiling-mounted chandelier that reinterprets the classic form for contemporary interiors. It is intended as a decorative ambient fitting for generous volumes where a sculptural centrepiece is required.
The design uses a radial, symmetrical frame with six horizontal arms and an intentional "lighting inversion": flexible U-shaped translucent loops act as the primary light source while vertical brass tubes recall traditional candle forms. The Paradoxe is offered in Satin Brass, Satin Graphite, Satin Nickel and Satin Copper, and is available in fixed or chain suspension versions.
Construction is metal-bodied with a soft satin metallic finish on the visible frame and canopy. Thin tension wires are incorporated visibly into the skeletal structure for both support and a refined, engineered look. The suspension in the pictured variant uses a metallic chain and circular canopy.
Light is delivered from the curved translucent tubes, producing a soft, diffuse ambient glow across the room rather than a single-point beam. Available variants reference nominal outputs such as 2850 lm, 4800 lm and 9800 lm, making the range suitable for larger dining, reception or entry spaces where layered ambient light is essential.
The chain version allows height adjustment at installation; a fixed version is offered where a permanent ceiling height is required. A two-year manufacturer warranty is supplied. For driver, lamp or dimming details consult the technical sheet for the chosen variant before specifying.
At Lighting Design Online we focus on the right outcome: the Paradoxe is a considered choice when you need a sculptural ambient chandelier that reads as architecture and light together. We offer clarity on finishes, outputs and installation so you can specify with professional assurance and project-friendly detail.
